Land Use
The comprehensive development plan area of Puducherry has been prepared for the urban areas situated within Puducherry Municipality, Oulgaret Municipality (except Kalapet, Alankuppam, Pillaichavady Revenue villages). Wherein building permits are being issued based on the classification of building and use of land. In areas situated outside the Comprehensive Development Plan area i.e. Ariyakuppam Commune, Villianur Commune, Bahour Commune, Manadipet Commune & Nettapakkam commune and in kalapet, Alankuppam & Pillaichavady Revenue villages, Building permits are issued in the sites located in existing settlements/ developed area. In case of unauthorised layouts/developments permits are issued based on the directions of the Sub-Committee constituted for unapproved layouts and recommendations of Land use conversion committee for usage of land for non-agriculture purpose issued by the Town and Country Planning Department as per the G.o.Ms.34/2012-Hg dated. 18.12.2012
